Medieval Studies in the Digital Age is a seminar and workshop series at the University of Leeds, intended to encourage cross-disciplinary exchange among scholars who currently use or are interested in using technological tools and techniques for their research.

The second in this series will be Dr Katie Green’s seminar entitled ‘Data Management, Digital Preservation and the Archaeology Data Service’ on Tuesday 2 December 2014. The venue is the Le Patourel Room, 4.06, Parkinson Building, University of Leeds. The seminar starts at 5.30pm with tea and coffee

Dr Katie Green is the Communications and Access Manager at the Archaeology Data Service (ADS), University of York, UK.

The ADS is a specialised digital repository for archaeological data and supports research, learning and teaching with freely available, high quality and dependable digital resources. It does this by preserving digital data in the long term and by promoting good practice in the use of digital data in archaeology.

This paper will introduce the importance of data management, the dangers of digital data, and the ADS preservation strategy before presenting some of ADS’s key medieval resources. You can read more about Dr Katie Green’s seminar on the Medieval Studies in the Digital Age website.

Everyone welcome but spaces are limited so please register via Eventbrite.
