Exploring the impact of race relations legislation in the UK
The University of Leeds and the House of Commons are working with artist Scarlett Crawford on a special project to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1968 Race Relations Act.
During First Waves, Scarlett will work with community groups across the country, and we are looking for people from Leeds to join in and tell their stories.
During the workshops Scarlett will encourage participants to share their experiences of race relations through drawing, participatory photography, and recorded interviews.
The artworks will be exhibited at the Project Space at the School of Fine Art, History of Art & Cultural Studies, University of Leeds, in December 2018.
