Medieval Studies in the Digital Age is a seminar and workshop series at the University of Leeds, intended to encourage cross-disciplinary exchange among scholars who currently use or are interested in using technological tools and techniques for their research.

This one-day workshop, led by Dr Vincent Hiribarren (King’s College London), aims at explaining the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to scholars with no previous knowledge of mapping software. The morning session will show the potentials of GIS, online maps and spatial thinking to non-practitioners. In the afternoon, a hands-on session will show how maps can be created and tailored for different purposes. You can read more about the workshop on our website.

The workshop will take place at the Le Patourel Room, 4.06, Parkinson Building, University of Leeds from 10am-5pm. Everyone is welcome but spaces will be limited so we kindly ask you to register via Eventbrite.

See here for the full programme of events in this series.

The Medieval Studies in the Digital Age Seminar and Workshop Series is organised by: Kivilcim Yavuz (Institute for Medieval Studies) Victoria Cooper (School of English) Elizabeth Stainforth (Centre for Critical Studies in Museums, Galleries and Heritage, School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies)
