Curatorial Assistant opportunity at Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge

Date

Kettle’s Yard is a house with a permanent collection of twentieth century artworks, library and an archive, together with a gallery presenting a changing programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions and artists’ projects. It has an international reputation for its activities that include concerts of new and classical music and an extensive programme of education activities.

There is currently a vacancy for a part-time Curatorial Assistant to work within the programming team led by the Senior Curator, Collections & Programme at the University of Cambridge. This position will provide an opportunity for an early career curator to develop, organise and co-curate an exhibition or project and related events working in collaboration with Kettle's Yard's and the local community as part of the Open House programme.

The post holder will also work more broadly with the wider Kettle's Yard programming team on projects relating to Open House. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to develop relationships with people at all levels, enthusiasm for working with collections, contemporary artists, and for coordinating arts projects off-site in a community setting.

This fellowship is supported by the Artisa Foundation and aims to give the post holder experience of working within a major public gallery and with artists, the community and other cultural partners. The position is part-time for 2 days a week for 9 months.

See here for more information including how to apply.

Closing date: Friday 6 February 2015.
