Ex-Museum Studies student on BBC’s Celebrity Antiques Road Trip

Date

Anna Robinson, former student of the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, appeared on this week’s Celebrity Antiques Road Trip in her role as Head of House and Collections at Harewood House.

The episode featured actors Diana Rigg and Neil Dudgeon travelling across Yorkshire with antiques experts Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw, searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction. The road trip took them from Doncaster to Stansted, via antique shops in Yorkshire towns including Barnsley, Ossett and Otley.

En route, the antique hunters stopped off to see art collections at The Hepworth Wakefield and Harewood House, a stately home situated between Leeds and Harrogate.

Now Head of House and Collections at Harewood, Museum Studies alumna Anna Robinson introduced the outstanding collection of art masterpieces in the Gallery, collected by the Lascelles family since the house was built in the 18th Century. The collection includes pieces by watercolourist Turner, a frequent visitor to Harewood.

Anna Robinson studied Fine and Decorative Arts (now Museum Studies) with Mathematics, before going on to a Masters in History and the Theory of Architecture, both at the University of Leeds. More information about Anna’s experiences whilst studying at Leeds can be found here.

The episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip was first aired on BBC2 on Monday 8 September, is available here until 15 September.
